How Do We Clean Tracks
All window tracks are cleaned with track specific brushes and/or our eco-friendly steamer. Make no mistake, it’s not just the tools we use to make an effective cleaning, but the genuine interest we have to make sure it’s done right!
Steamer Take No Prisoners!
Is it really necessary to clean the tracks?
The answer is a resounding YES! Here’s why:
- Improved Appearance: Dirt buildup in the tracks can make your windows look dirty even if the window has been cleaned. Insects and wasps have a natural affinity towards window tracks. For wasps, they like to use the tracks to build nests and cocoons. Don’t worry, this is where our special steamer comes in!
- Longer Lifespan: When dirt, mold, and mildew is left unattended and uncleaned for long periods of time, it starts to rust out the crank. This can be a headache to replace as they are usually uniform to the manufacturer of your windows. And if they are not in business anymore, this can become a costly and time consuming task!
- Reduction of Harmful Substances: Since window tracks are generally the least sought after item to clean, they are generally the dirtiest. With the growth of mold and mildew, dust, and pollen, these harmful substances can dampen the air quality in your home.
When Is The Best Time To Clean Your Window Tracks?
If your home is located in an urban location, once a year is best. If your home is surrounded with many trees and/or located near a ravine, it is recommended to do them twice a year.
So, have those tracks cleaned professionally so you can stretch out those windows wide open without a worry in the world!
